Directors

Mr. Bret Pendergast has been the Band Director at Marlington since 2015. He has previously taught at Osnaburg Local Schools, Akron Public Schools (Perkins, Ellet, and Kenmore), Garrettsville, and Springfield. He teaches 6th - 12 Grade Band, Jazz Band, Guitar Class, and Music Theory. He is a member of NAfME, OMEA, and the Da Capo Leadership. He is a grduate of the University of Akron where his major instrument was classical guitar. He also marched for the 1985/86 Bluecoats. He is happily married to Stacie and has twins - Corwin and Drew (both teachers in other Districts)

Mrs. Hale has been a music teacher at Marlington since . She has been the Assistant Director since .

Mr. Isaiah Carpenter is in his first year as Percussion Instructor at Marlington. He graduated from Early College High School. He is a Senior Music Education Major at the University of Mount Union with a focus in percussion instruments. Isaiah is also a member of OCMEA (Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association), NAfME(National association for Music Education), and other organizations on campus. After graduationg, he plans to find a job as a general music teacher along with supplemental opportunities in the area.

Ms. Lacey Lemaster is in her first year as the Color Guard Instructor. She graduated from Marlington in 2018 and was on Mount Union’s Color Guard for 4 years.
